Kingwood Boutique Hotel Miri: A Central Stay with Cozy Charm

Kingwood Boutique Hotel Miri was one of the places on my shortlist during my recent 4D3N trip to Miri, Sarawak. After spending a night at Pullman Miri Waterfront Hotel, we checked out in the afternoon and made our way to Kingwood Boutique Hotel Miri for our next two nights. The walk between both hotels took only about eight minutes, but the change in environment was noticeable. Kingwood Boutique is much more central, surrounded by local coffeeshops, eateries, and even Imperial Mall right across the street. It was more convenient for exploring the town.

Kingwood Boutique Hotel Miri – Cozy Stay with a Touch of Elegance

Kingwood Boutique Hotel is a 49-room property that blends old-school charm with modern elegance. Stepping inside, we were greeted by a small lobby café that exudes a warm, intimate vibe. To the right sits a compact reception desk, and just beyond the lobby is an all-day restaurant that seems to enjoy many positive reviews online.

After the checked in, we headed to our room and were welcomed by a comforting and cozy atmosphere. The room carried subtle touches of elegance—especially the bed’s leather headboard and the marble-style walls of the toilet cubicles. I appreciated the water dispenser located just outside our room, in front of the lift. It offers both cold and warm water anytime we needed it.

I initially booked the Classic Deluxe Room but ended up requesting a switch the following night. The bathtub in the first room felt too cramped to enjoy. I found myself preferring a simple rain shower instead. Thankfully, the staff quickly accommodated my request. The new room—a Classic Twin located at the corner of the hotel felt even more spacious, which turned out to be a bonus.

The only complaint during my stay was the lingering smell of cigarette smoke coming from the neighboring room. It was noticeable and definitely an irritant, especially since the hotel maintains a no-smoking policy. It would be great if the hotel could enforce this rule more strictly to ensure all guests enjoy a smoke-free environment.

Despite lacking recreational facilities like a swimming pool or gym, Kingwood Boutique Hotel Miri still delivered a pleasant and comfortable stay. Its central location more than made up for the missing amenities. We especially enjoyed waking up early and strolling to nearby coffeeshops for breakfast without feeling rushed. For travelers who prioritise convenience, charm, and comfort over extensive facilities, Kingwood Boutique Hotel Miri is definitely worth considering.
