OZO George Town Penang Hotel Review

OZO George Town Penang Hotel opened its doors to welcome guests since September 2020.

I spent my last two nights in Penang over at OZO Hotel, located within the UNESCO world heritage zone of Georgetown. It is a 22-storey hotel which was mere minutes’ walk away from Hotel Penaga. I had picked a high building this time since my previous 2 nights were in heritage boutique hotels, no taller than 3 storeys.

After I took the lift up to the lobby, I was greeted by a panoramic view of the cityscape. I requested to check-in early so that I could start exploring the streets once again. Upon checking, the hotel reception staff updated me that my room would be ready in about half an hour time. It was so fortunate that I do not need to leave my luggage with them. Since I had bought breakfast before arriving, I ate in the lobby while waiting for my room. Juice was also available in the form of a welcome drink behind the reception counter as well.

Finally, it was time to check-in, and I went up to my room which was the Superior King. The beautiful view was what caught my attention first as I began drawing the curtains. As OZO George Town Penang Hotel is barely 3 years old, the place still looks really classic, fresh and tidy.

Before heading out, I squeezed in some time to take a quick tour around the hotel itself. Located on the 21st floor, all day restaurant EAT serves all day breakfast and ala carte menu throughout the day. Since I would be out most of the time from morning, I did not opt for any of the meals.

The next 2 places of the hotel I visited was the gym and the pool. Anyway, I am not a user of either facility during my overseas stay due to time constraints. Both offers a splendid view of the Georgetown, especially the pool! I wasn’t expecting the pool looking like an infinity pool!

Checking out in the morning was a breeze since I had to catch the afternoon flight from Penang International Airport. Without traffic congestion, it would only take about half an hour to reach. Since being early, I dropped by Cecil Street Market Hawker Center for breakfast. It is well known among the locals for being one of the oldest and best places for hawker food.
