Hotel Labuan Point was one of the hotels that I shortlisted when I planned our 2-night’s stay at Labuan. Although the journey from Singapore was not exactly straightforward, it was all part of the adventure.
Despite departing from Changi Airport at 9.10am, we only arrived in Labuan at around 2.40pm. It was all due to a layover in Kuala Lumpur since there were no direct flights from Singapore. From the airport, we booked a ride using the Maxim App. It was considered a more on-demand transport platform in Sabah as compared to others.
Hotel Labuan Point Check In
The lobby itself was rather simple and functional. There were no grand entrance or luxurious interiors to impress arriving guests, but that did not bother me. What mattered more was that the check-in process was smooth and efficient after a long day of travelling.
Stepping into the room, we found a comfortable space that was suitable for our short 2-night’s stay in Labuan. The room featured two comfortable single beds with warm ambient lighting behind the wooden headboard. The somehow felt pretty cozy, while the dark curtains helped to block out sunlight for a restful night’s sleep. Although the room décor was relatively straightforward, it was clean and well-maintained.
The bathroom was compact but adequately equipped with the essentials. I made a call to the reception to request for toothbrush sets, which was mentioned on a note. The black-tiled shower area gave the bathroom a contemporary appearance, while the overall cleanliness was satisfactory throughout our stay.
While the room may not be luxurious, it provided everything we needed for a comfortable base to explore the island.

Convenient 24-Hour Mart at the Ground Floor
One feature that I particularly appreciated during my stay was the 24-hour convenience mart located on the ground floor of the hotel. Having a convenience store within the hotel building made it incredibly easy to grab bottled water, snacks, drinks and other daily necessities. This proved especially useful after a long day of sightseeing when I simply wanted to relax in my room rather than head out again.
The Highlight: Sky Bar at Hotel Labuan Point
Without a doubt, the standout feature of Hotel Labuan Point is its rooftop Sky Bar.
As evening falls, the rooftop transforms into one of the most relaxing spots in Labuan. Guests can sit back with a drink and enjoy the panoramic views of the surrounding city. Watching the city lights gradually illuminate the skyline creates a surprisingly tranquil atmosphere too!
Final Thoughts
Hotel Labuan Point may not boast the most central location or the most luxurious interiors. However, it delivers comfortable accommodation, practical amenities and a memorable rooftop experience. The presence of a 24-hour convenience mart makes so convenient for guests to pick up essentials at any time of the day.
For travelers seeking a reasonably priced stay with one of the island’s best rooftop venues, Hotel Labuan Point is worth considering. The rooftop Sky Bar gives the property a distinctive edge, offering a relaxing spot to enjoy drinks while admiring the night skyline of Labuan. Coupled with nearby attractions such as Masjid Jamek An-Nur (State Mosque) just two streets away and Labuan Botanical Garden within a 12-minute walk. Hotel Labuan Point serves as a convenient base for exploring this lesser-known part of Sabah.
