Hotel Review – Carlton City Hotel Singapore

As Singapore has lifted its Circuit Breaker measures and has progressed into post circuit breaker phrase 2, locals will once again be able to enjoy hotel staycations. Let me just reminisce the time I enjoyed my staycation at Carlton City Hotel Singapore last year.

Situated within the business district of Tanjong Pagar, Carlton City Hotel Singapore is pretty much accessible since the train station is less than 10 mins walk away and has a 100am shopping mall and many other dining options within its vicinity.

3 Places In Paris You Could Easily Climb Besides The Eiffel Tower

Are you someone like me who would love to have a little climb for a scenic view of the urban landscape instead of a hike up a mountain?

There are amazing things about climbing a city’s structure that would cause nature lovers to frown upon. We avoid the dirt and dust from the sandy slopes as the the concrete/stone steps would be way safer and bearable to the non adventurous. As nature lovers enjoy nature, we also could enjoy the beautiful architecture of the cities as we admire from a bird’s eye view. You might probably spot your favorite fast food joint from the point you are standing! Not only that, you would not be able to argue that the resting points within a building/structure could be way more comfortable!

Hotel Review – Hotel Ibis Dusseldorf Hauptbahnhof

Hotel Ibis Dusseldorf Hauptbahnhof will be my last hotel review for this entire Germany-France trip which I am already missing so much, especially the gothic cathedrals and beautiful architectures.

As it was finally the last night remaining in Dusseldorf and we had to take the train or should I say metro, to the airport the following morning, we naturally picked Hotel Ibis Dusseldorf Hauptbahnhof to stay in. (By the way, Hauptbahnhof actually means main railway station.)  Continue reading “Hotel Review – Hotel Ibis Dusseldorf Hauptbahnhof”

7 Popular Cathedrals I Had Visited During My Germany – France Trip

There are countless famous cathedrals across Europe as the continent was steeped in religious history. I had my opportunity to visit some of these places of worship, which I have included to my travel itinerary from Germany to France. Even though you might not be a Christ believer, the doors are always open to welcome tourists alike.

The following gothic cathedrals are not listed according to any order and each of them are considered well known with a rich history to share. Let me know which have you visited?

Hotel Review – Inter Hotel Le Bristol, Strasbourg, France

Day 3 of our trip and we arrived at Gare de Strasbourg (station) from Frankfurt via train. It was close to nightfall as we walked over to our hotel at Inter Hotel Le Bristol to check in. I was quite amaze to spot many other hotels along the stretch across Strasbourg Station where Inter Hotel Le Bristol was sandwiched somewhere in between. Hotel Review – Art’otel Cologne by Park Plaza, Germany

IMG_8483

While 25 Hours Hotel Das Tours, Dusseldorf  was warm, cozy & furnished in German-French vintage style, Art’otel Cologne by Park Plaza on the other hand showcased modern, minimalist and stylish design.

Getting to Art’otel Cologne by Park Plaza was rather convenient as it only took less than 10 minutes by bus 133 from Cologne Hauptbahnhof Main Train Station. Being located along the Rheinauhafen district, the Old Town and a museum was just few minutes walk away. Not forgetting the Lindt Chocolate Museum which was about 3 minutes walk across the Rhine River. Continue reading “Hotel Review – Art’otel Cologne by Park Plaza, Germany”

Hotel Review – 25 Hours Hotel Das Tour, Dusseldorf, Germany

IMG_7323

After the dreadful 13 hours ride in a direct flight aircraft, the first thing most of us would like to do would be to check in into the hotel room. With the freezing weather and the sky was about to turn dark for nightfall, I was thankful 25 Hours Hotel Dusseldorf was about 5 mins walk from Wehrhahn Station.

The interior was pretty much German-French inspired with retro/vintage furnishings as well as the metal frames of Eiffel Tower. A large Christmas tree was set up and there were fresh flowers and trinkets on sale due to festive seasons. For those whom would love to chill, coffee and cakes are available at the lobby’s mini Café La Tour. Continue reading “Hotel Review – 25 Hours Hotel Das Tour, Dusseldorf, Germany”

Hotel Review – Sofitel Singapore City Centre

I had a staycation with mum over the weekends at Sofitel Singapore City Centre, nestled in the heart of the central business district. I was rather surprised at first since I wasn’t expecting to find a luxury hotel around Tanjong Pagar, especially directly above the MRT station.
The hotel was rather elegant to begin with, as my mum and I stepped in, making our way towards Racines, a French and local Chinese restaurant for lunch before checking in. Chilled soup and bread was served as we waited for our mains to arrive.
