Lyf Sukhumvit 8 Bangkok Hotel
For my last night in Bangkok, I choose the Lyf Sukhumvit 8 Bangkok Hotel. One of the main reasons for choosing this hotel was its location. It is only about 3-minute walk from the Nana BTS station. Getting to Suvarnabhumi airport the next day is also easy. All I did was to take the BTS line to Phaya Thai station, before changing over to the Airport Link City Line.
Check-in was a breeze as I was able to have an early check-in. All I did was to register for the free Lyf membership account which entitled members for the early check-in. I was so thankful that the friendly staff had assisted me with the membership sign up.
Lyf Sukhumvit 8 Bangkok Hotel is a 4-star hotel that opened last year. That would mean everything in the hotel was quite new! Besides the photo worthy tuk-tuk (a three-wheeled motorized vehicle used as a taxi in Thailand), the hotel lobby decoration is in fact quite eye-catching too. Just like the Lyf hotels in Singapore, the hotel has a similar co-living concept with well-designed common areas. From open working areas to the shared kitchen, not to mention a rooftop lawn.
I was amazed at how cozy the room was upon entering through the flashy yellow door. The bed was on a platform, a sliding door that reveals the bathroom and toilet cubicle. The entire space design was well thought out and maximized.
What to do around Lyf Sukhumvit 8 Bangkok Hotel
Anyway, since it was my last day in Bangkok and I would be flying back the following morning, I decided to explore around the area. The nearest large shopping center is Terminal 21 at Asok station. (Only 1 stop from Nana BTS station) Since I had already been to Terminal 21, I got off two stops later, at the Phrom Phong BTS station. There are 2 shopping malls to discover there, namely The Emporium and EmQuartier.
I even walked over to Rung Rueang Pork Noodles, another Michelin Bib Gourmand in Bangkok for dinner. After which I headed to Yunomori Onsen & Spa (Sukhumvit 26) for a soak!
