Is Lloyd’s Inn perhaps the most tranquil hotel in Singapore? Check out my experience in this boutique hotel.
Lloyd’s Inn was one of the few hotels that caught my attention as I scrolled through the list on Klook Singapore. Just like some of you, I wanted to use my $100 SingapoRediscover Vouchers for a staycaytion since I could not go overseas. In fact I am using my vouchers later than my mum! Check out where she booked hers!
Instead of enjoying a 5-star hotel experience with great dining and other facilities, I seek a simple zen-like environment. Especially when it is amidst lush greenery and which I could hibernate for a day. I guess I wanted to experience the out-of-city feel.
A 10 minutes walk from Somerset Station and we finally reached the entrance of Lloyd’s Inn. The passage led us to a minimalist-looking lobby which I had a pretty smooth check in, all done in less than 5 minutes. We headed to the ground floor which our room was located, smack right at a corner.
The room was in minimalist style as expected, which I love besides the tranquil environment surrounded by greens. The shower and toilet area gave an illusion as though they were outdoors. We took a little break before we started our little photography session outdoors!
The hits and misses of having a staycay in a boutique hotel.
As you can tell, the hotel ground could easily be explored in just 15 minutes or so. I have probably taken every possible location of Lloyd’s Inn that I deem IG-worthy. Bonus points for the rural vibes that reminded me of Bali!
Wondering if it is a pool or a water fountain? It is basically just a dipping pool and not possible for a swim. Other facilities include an outdoor pantry with tables and chairs, vending machine, coffee machine, water/ice dispenser as well as a microwave oven.
If you don’t have the intention to hibernate like me, the city center is a great place for shopping. You might have guessed it right, we had food delivered to us instead of us having to walk out for dinner.
Besides the ugly bathrobes which Lloyd’s Inn has provided, the room’s aircon placement was bad. I had difficulty sleeping while the aircon is located directly above since it affects me nose. Anyway it was great to cozy up in bed, lazing my time away.
The following day, we decided to check out before heading over to Artisan Boulangerie Co for our complimentary breakfast. It was about 5 mins walk towards the main road before spotting the café. We had a choice of a pastry/muffin and coffee/tea/chocolate each before heading home!
