Andaz Singapore is a relatively new luxury hotel, a concept by Hyatt which opened its doors since 2017.
My mum had decided to use her $100 SingapoRediscover vouchers to book a staycation at Andaz Singapore – a concept by Hyatt. Since the vouchers has to be redeemed by 30 June this year, why not use it for leisure?
Spotting a snaking queue at the lobby of Andaz Hotel’s check-in counter got me sighing at first. It was kind of worrying since I have previously read articles regarding the long waiting time of checking in. The original counters were located on 25th floor. The ones located at the lobby were implemented due to safe distancing measures and to prevent overcrowding.
I was glad that the service was rather efficient. We checked in after 20 minutes and happily took the lift up to our room.
The twin beds room sure was bigger than expected! The room speaks of modern luxury with a mix of wooden elements. Separating the shower and toilet area were orange doors on hinges. Not forgetting to mention that the view of the cityscape from the ceiling to floor windows was beautiful. A click of button for the automated binds and curtains to reveal the view! I started going around the place snapping photos of the room.
Nope, I wasn’t the one staying over for the night with my mum but I did get to use the swimming pool which my mum had booked!
Stunning cityscape pool view but more breathtaking rooftop view from level 39 amidst lush tropical landscaping.
After changing into bathroom slippers and bathrobe provided by the hotel, we went down to lvl 25 once again, where the pool is located. Thank goodness the pool wasn’t crowded due limited booking slots. The sun was quite glaring and it was quite difficult to take good shots. Thankfully my mum did help me to capture some!
All I did was to swim a couple of short laps and admiring the cityscape before wanting to escape from the radiating sun rays. There was even a mini garden beside the pool where I took some photos too.
Another main highlights of Andaz Singapore would probably be its rooftop garden on its 39th floor. Mr Stork, an alfresco drinking and dining spot is located there as well. It offers diners and pub goers a 360-degrees of the city view. You could even choose to settle and cozy up in those little open-face huts to cheers over a glass of alcohol.
For those who would like to explore around, the staffs allow that as long as you scan your safe entry QR code! Yes, the night view is definitely more awesome and romantic.
Dinner at Auntie’s Wok and Steam since the other dining establishments were fully booked.
Dinner that night was at Auntie’s Wok and Steam with my cousins. One of my relative which would be joining my mum for that night’s staycation. This zi char restaurant serves up Chinese classic dishes which I felt was kind of pricy.
An average cost for each dish was about $18 and people would rather spend their complementary $100 dining credits in other dining establishments within the hotel instead. The food was meh and there were probably only 5 tables filled by 8.30pm.
After the meal, we all head back to the hotel room to chat and chill a bit. I headed home while my mum and relative went for a walk around Bugis. Bugis is basically just a couple of minutes walk away as Andaz Singapore is located in quite a centralized location.
They probably did a bit of shopping before returning back to enjoy the night and the following day’s complimentary breakfast.
