Pullman Miri Waterfront: Sea Views, Epic Gym and Infinity Pool

Pullman Miri Waterfront Hotel was instantly one of the top choices I had in mind when browsing through accommodation options in Miri. Its prime location and promise of a scenic waterfront view made it an easy decision for me. This trip also marked my second visit to Sarawak—my first being about five years ago, when I stayed at Pullman Kuching. One thing that remains consistent across both Pullman properties? Space. Lots of it.

Walking into the lobby felt like stepping into a grand hall. It has high ceiling, expansive layout, and a sense of openness that immediately puts you at ease. The lobby houses a cozy lounge selling coffee and cakes, perfect for anyone who wants to unwind without heading outdoors. I had already grabbed lunch earlier at Marina Times Square, or I might have treated myself to a slice of cake.

Room: Deluxe Executive with Sea View

After collecting our room cards, we headed to our Deluxe Executive Room with 2 Single Beds with a Sea View. The moment we stepped in, the room thrilled us with its spacious and modern feel. The grey-toned furnishings added a touch of elegance, and everything looked clean and well maintained. Drawing the curtains revealed a calming sight of the sea, a small jetty, and nearby housing. The view was simple, but beautiful.

The bathroom came with a bathtub, but unfortunately the tub plug wasn’t working, so it couldn’t hold water. As we were checking out the next afternoon, we didn’t request a room change, though it would have been nice to enjoy a soak. The room also had a filtered drinking water tap in the bathroom for easy bottle refills, with bottled water provided as well. An unexpected touch? A pair of dumbbells in the room—perfect for guests who prefer private workouts.

Facilities Worth Highlighting

Infinity Pool:
The pool may not be the largest, but it offers the same stunning sea view as my room. It is a peaceful spot to unwind, though the outdoor shower was not working at all. Thankfully, you can access the gym’s bathroom directly from the pool—and it even includes a sauna.

Gym:
This was a hidden gem that caught me by surprise. The hotel gym is easily one of the largest I have come across, especially for a hotel. It features a wide range of machines, free weights, and a dedicated area for small group classes. The area is comparable to smaller neighborhood gyms in Singapore. We squeezed in a 45-minute workout before checking out. Honestly, had I known the gym was this impressive, I would have opted for 2 night’s stay in this hotel instead.

All in all, my stay at Pullman Miri Waterfront Hotel was a pleasant and relaxing experience—just what I needed for a trip to the sleepy town of Miri. The spacious room, serene sea views, and top-notch gym facilities made the stay memorable. While there were small hiccups like the non-functional bathtub plug and pool shower, they weren’t deal-breakers. Pullman Miri is a great choice for travelers seeking comfort, space, and a quiet retreat by the waterfront. I would gladly return for another stay, perhaps for a longer and slower unwind.
