Lens Studio Vũng Tàu is one of the popular places to visit in Vũng Tàu for both locals and tourists alike. I immediately bookmarked the location down after coming across its Japanese/China inspired entrance.
As we alighted from our Grab car, a small crowd had already gathered around the location. I immediately love how they had made the effort of furnish the place, virtually transporting us to Japan/China! There were fake cherry blossoms, lanterns, many wooden fixtures, mini koi pond and a fortune cat statue installed.
A café kiosk known as Lens Coffee was located right at the entrance. The menu was quite limited, serving only coffee, tea, and other syrup beverages. While my friend had his coffee latte, I went for the blueberry syrup beverage which was overly sweet. Soon the crowd had started to disperse. If we decided to enter the building for more photo taking, we had to pay an additional fee of 100,000 VND each. We did so since we were already there and spent the next hour or so trigger-happy.
We headed into the first room as a group of cosplayers in fanciful Japanese costumes came out of it. The setting was really beautiful, and its theme was probably Chinese Oriental. There was at least 4 spot for photo taking in that room itself from serving tea to the Chinese calligraphy desk to the “gu zheng”, etc. The second level is also Chinese, with a blend of Western retro inspired backdrop. The top floor finally offered a Japanese-inspired room with Samurai swords, a game of chess, and Japanese shrine image background.
All in all, Lens Studio Vũng Tàu is a place where a group of friend or family members could enjoy posing for photos. Just hoped that it is off peak during your visit or you may need to wait a while for the previous group to clear the room before entering. That aside, you may want to grab a cup of coffee to quench your thirst as you wait!
