Melia Vinpearl Hai Phong Rivera Hotel Review

Melia Vinpearl Hai Phong Rivera is a classy and luxurious hotel in Hai Phong.

Hai Phong was more of a pit stop for us to recharge after the 4 days of excessive walking in Ho Chi Minh and Hanoi. We decided to take the limousine service from Mina Hotel and Spa since the staff mentioned it was cheaper than taking a Grab.

By the time we had arrived in Hai Phong, it was already evening. I only realized that Melia Vinpearl Hai Phong Rivera is located at the north-west of Hai Phong when we reached. In fact, quite a distance from the city central where shopping and food area clustered.

We managed to try 2 of Hai Phong’s specialties which were Banh Da Cua and Banh My Cay. Miss the Banh My Cay so much as the crispy toasted bread with delicious pate was too addictive. Besides for the popular food, we had no intention to explore much since the next day we would be heading to Ha Long Bay.

After alighting, we were amazed by Melia Vinpearl Hai Phong Rivera grand entrance, followed by high ceilings. The lobby was so huge, and a towering Christmas tree stood right in the center. As the hotel was so huge and I hardly spot other guests, I believe I could hear echos as I speak.

The friendly hotel reception assisted us with the check-in and even brought us directly to our room. One look and I love how classy, spick and span the room was. The toilet has a bathtub which I immediately knew I would want to soak myself in that night. Besides that, both the pillow and bed were extremely comfortable as well! Yes, it is my second time mentioning about comfortable pillows and beds for this Vietnam trip.

I did explore the place a bit and there do have facilities such as gym room, a pool and spa services. There are also dining places such as Rumba Restaurant and Garbo Bar for drinks. We decided to hit the streets for food after checking in instead.

After a night of rest, we had breakfast from a nearby cafe before taking Grab to Ha Long Bay!
