After a night’s rest at Da Nang, we travelled north-west via train to our next destination, the city of Hue. Just a short introduction, Hue is a city of central Vietnam which was the capital of Dang Trong from 1738 to 1755 and of the Nguyen Dynasty from 1802 to 1945. It is a small town rich in culture and history where you could explore royal palaces and tombs of great Vietnamese emperors.
Due to time constraint and since our main purpose was to visit the imperial palace, we booked a night’s stay at Tam Family Homestay which was just a few streets of walking distance away.
It was actually my first time lodging over at a homestay and I was surprised Vietnam offers quite a lot of homestay options. Tam Family Homestay was 3 stories unit with multiple room sizes from single to double. The family welcomed us warmly into their apartment and showed us our simple yet cozy rooms on the upper levels.
The surroundings were other residentials with perhaps a few shops and eateries sandwiched in between. As Hue is a small city, the vibes living around here was very different from Da Nang.
