Baiyoke Sky Hotel Fruit Buffet in Bangkok

Have you tried Baiyoke Sky Hotel Fruit Buffet before? Upon hearing about it, I had to add it into my already-packed Bangkok itinerary.

Located less than 10 minutes away from Ratchaprarop Station, Baiyoke Sky Hotel is Thailand’s tallest hotel. It is also the only hotel I have come across having such a novelty buffet theme – Fruits. My friend and I especially dropped by after our shopping at Platinum Fashion Mall. Yes, it was really close by and I regretted lodging at Cubic Pratunam Hotel.

We made our way up to the fruits theme buffet and headed directly to the counter to purchase the bundle tickets. I could not recall the price, but it entitles us to Baiyoke Sky Hotel buffet and the entrance to the revolving viewpoint on the 84th floor.

A selection of dishes that involved fruits

I was quite excited to check out the food/fruits offered in the buffet. There was definitely a large selection of fruits where I got to select using a basket. Since most fruits were prepared ala minute, you need to worry if they were exposed for a longer duration. There was durian tom yam, grilled durian, mango sticky rice, and buns. Check out the colorful glutinous rice option for your mango sticky rice! One thing that disappointed me was the durian. Thai durian was unlike those from Malaysia where the smell is pungent, and the flesh is pulpy. They were fibrous, hard, and dry which many of us might not expect and enjoy. Anyway, the fruits overall were quite sweet and enjoyable.

After our fruitful buffet (pun intended), we headed up to the 84th floor, where the revolving viewpoint is. It was so windy, and my hair was in a mess, but I have no complaints. We were granted a scenic 360 degrees view of the Bangkok cityscape where its floor spins automatically.

The fruits buffet and enjoying the skyline view would probably take about 2-3 hours the most. Why not squeeze in some time to enjoy both?
