My recent 3D2N stay at NSRCC with my friends was an extraordinary “home away from home” experience!
NSRCC is a golf and country club whose membership is open to NSmen who have performed national service, as well as full-time NSmen. Since many are not familiar with National Service Resort & Country Club (NSRCC), I would be glad to share my review on the bungalow staycation.
I had my stay at NSRCC Changi, a serene location that is away from the bustling city. It definitely was a perfect place for a retreat, gatherings, or reunions. There are shuttle buses available from Tanah Merah MRT station to NSRCC and vice versa.
As the bus journeyed on, we were greeted by a stretch of lush greenery where the golf course and driving range were. We felt like we were out of Singapore, perhaps Bali I supposed?
We made our way down to the bungalow reception to check in, and the process was fuss-free. I received 4 bungalow cards and was informed to call housekeeping before checking out the following morning. Bicycle rental is also available since there is easy access to East Coast Park via a side gate.
National Service Resort & Country Club (NSRCC) Bungalow
There are 40 two-storeyed bungalows offering a stunning view of Changi Beach / Golf Courses. Members get priority booking, allowing them to book up to 4 months in advance. They also get to enjoy exclusive discounted members-only rates!
The ground floor living room is so huge and can easily accommodate over 8 guests. Get your mahjong buddies along since there is a mahjong table and a set of mahjong tiles provided. It was so cozy, and we felt so at home! Bonus points for privacy since each bungalow is well-spaced apart. We drew back the curtains and just laze on the comfortable sofas watching television.
Feel free to utilize the kitchen if your BBQ plan happened to fail. Ours was quite successful I guess from the pictures below. The 2 showers rooms, one on each level were well-equipped with bath & hand towels, toiletries, and a hairdryer. With a water heater contributing to warm water, no wonder I enjoyed taking long baths as usual.
The second level has two twin bedrooms which accommodated all four of us. I love how my bedroom’s direction is facing the coast and I even got a glimpse of the sea!
Enjoy the full experience by having a BBQ dinner
Since each bungalow has a private BBQ pit, we would not want to miss the chance for a BBQ dinner party! Check out the spread of food we had from EZBBQ and NSRCC members are entitled to exclusive deals from EZBBQ suppliers.
In fact, it was my first time getting the fire started and it was quite a breeze. With a handwash basin installed near each BBQ pit, it was so convenient. Furthermore, the bungalow kitchen has plates, cups, tongs, and serviette tissues. You may even “cook” uncooked BBQ food by using the microwave oven (we did not)!
If you missed out on anything, you can even rent BBQ amenities from the NSRCC housekeeping team.
For those keen on NSRCC term membership, they offer 2, 5, and 10 years. There are 2 types of membership categories (Ordinary & Associate). Nsmen from the Army, Air Force, Navy, Police, and Civil Defence are eligible.
Stay tuned for the next part of my post where I would be featuring where to dine & what to do in NSRCC Changi! More information can be found on their website here!
