Regent Taipei Hotel: A Luxurious Stay in the Heart of the Metropolis

Regent Taipei Hotel was my final hotel-stop in Taiwan, where I spent the last two nights before returning to Singapore. Having already stayed at other Silks Hotel Group properties, my expectations were high—and Regent Taipei lived up to them. Luxurious, memorable, and perfectly indulgent, it was the ideal finale to my Taiwan adventure.

Nestled in the lively Zhongshan district, Regent Taipei enjoys one of the most convenient and stylish locations in the city. Regardless, from boutique shops to trendy cafés, the neighborhood buzzes with life. Furthermore, just a 10-minute walk from Zhongshan MRT Station, the hotel offers easy access to popular districts like Wanhua, Zhongzheng, and Datong. Whether you are here for business or leisure, shopping and dining options are never far.

Walking into Regent Taipei feels like stepping into an upscale shopping destination. That is because the hotel is home to Regent Galleria, one of Taipei’s largest luxury malls, featuring world-renowned fashion houses like Louis Vuitton, Chanel, Hermès, Bvlgari, and Harry Winston.

The lobby itself exudes sophistication, with earth-toned marble counter tops and an attentive staff member stationed to guide guests. Surprisingly, holding a physical, gold-colored room key added a unique touch—something I do not often see in luxury hotels anymore.

My Room: Deluxe Room (1 King Bed)

The Deluxe Room was spacious, tastefully furnished, and carried a blend of classic elegance with modern luxury. The marble-clad bathroom immediately caught my eye, featuring a deep-soaking tub, separate shower, and even playful touches like a rubber duck and bathtub pillow. I could not resist a relaxing 20-minute soak the next day.

On the side table, a thoughtful welcome awaited: a bottle of wine with glasses, fresh fruits, and popular snacks like almond nougat and pineapple tarts. It was such a sweet gesture from the hotel that made me feel right at home. Definitely in line with the brand’s core value: “to serve as we would like to be served (將心比心、待人如己).”

Facilities

Wellspring Spa
One of the highlights of my stay was experiencing Wellspring Spa, Regent Taipei’s award-winning wellness sanctuary. Undoubtedly, with accolades like the Haute Grandeur Global Awards and recognition from Forbes Travel Guide, it is no surprise the treatments here are relaxing and exceptional.

I started with a 15-mins steam session in the built-in steam bath cubicle, before heading into my massage. The aromatherapy using ‘Celestial Bloom’, my selected choice of essential oil was so soothing that I dozed off midway. I only woke up refreshed at the end. Finally, I was served ginger tea and light bites in a beautifully presented wooden box—an elegant way to conclude the experience.

Health Club, Sauna & Rooftop Pool
For guests looking to stay active, the Health Club offers a well-equipped gym and a variety of fitness classes, from yoga to spinning. The sauna, jacuzzi, and year-round heated rooftop pool are perfect for winding down while enjoying Taipei’s skyline.

Breakfast Buffet and A Culinary Journey

Food is truly a highlight at Regent Taipei. With nine in-house restaurants, the hotel offers an incredible range of dining experiences in different atmosphere. Whether you are in the mood for international flavors, Japanese delicacies, or refined Chinese cuisine, there is something for every palate:

  • Mihan Honke (B3) – A Japanese dining destination specializing in Shabu Shabu, Sukiyaki, and Robatayaki, perfect for an authentic taste of Japan.
  • The Brasserie (1F) – A CNN-recommended buffet featuring open kitchens, fresh seafood from Taitung, made-to-order counters, salad bars, and global delicacies.
  • azie (1F) – Taipei’s first Grand Café, blending Asian and Western flavors. Open day and night, it serves everything from dim sum to desserts, all with live music in a chic open-top atrium.
  • Robin’s Grill (2F) – A classic steakhouse offering prime charcoal-grilled beef and one of the best salad bars in town, stocked with fresh local greens.
  • Robin’s Teppan (2F) – A lively teppanyaki experience where chefs skillfully prepare premium Western ingredients with a Japanese flair, turning dining into a performance.
  • The Gallery (2F) – A relaxed spot for light meals, pastries, and afternoon tea, overlooking azie. Come evening, enjoy drinks and live music in a cozy, cheerful setting.
  • Silks House (3F) – A Chinese restaurant serving neo-Szechuan and Cantonese specialties in a fine-dining setting. Its environment blends Chinese calligraphy with contemporary design. Ten private dining rooms are available for intimate gatherings.
  • Silks Club (21F) – The Silks Club is a private club located on the top floor of the hotel. It is a serene, elevated restaurant serving fine Shanghainese cuisine, expertly prepared by Regent’s senior executive chef. Ideal for private dinners, business meetings, or small group celebrations with stunning city views.

In conclusion, Regent Taipei Hotel could be more than just a luxury stay in the heart Taiwan’s metropolis. It is an urban retreat offering sophisticated accommodation, top-notch facilities, and a prime location. Whether you are a business traveler or leisure guest seeking indulgence, Regent Taipei caters equally well to all.
