Just Sleep Tainan Hushan: Heritage Meets Modern Comfort

Just Sleep Tainan Hushan offers travelers a convenient location in Tainan. The hotel sits close to Tainan Airport (TNN) and provides easy access to Tainan High-Speed Rail Station and the surrounding highways. Whether you’re arriving by plane, train, or car, getting to the hotel is a breeze—making it an ideal choice for both leisure and business travelers.

Just Sleep Tainan Hushan First Impressions: A Heritage-Inspired Lobby

Stepping into Just Sleep Tainan Hushan feels like entering a space where cultural heritage meets modern design. The vibrant red hues, wooden fixtures, terrazzo flooring, and patterned glass give the lobby a nostalgic yet contemporary look. The inspiration behind the hotel stems from the sugar refinery heritage of the area—reflected in the ceiling protrusions and drum-inspired decorative pieces.

A standout feature in the lobby is the wagon-like display tucked into the corner with a “mini mart” sign. It offers uniquely designed packaged crackers found only in Tainan—perfect little souvenirs or gifts to bring home. For a quick snack, guests are also welcome to grab sweets or crackers from jars nearby. To top it off, there’s complimentary coffee available from the self-service machine, creating a welcoming and cozy atmosphere right from the start. These thoughtful details embody the brand’s core value: “to serve as we would like to be served (將心比心、待人如己).”

My Room: Deluxe Family King

I stayed in the Deluxe Family King, which comes with two spacious beds. The lobby had already impressed me, so I eagerly stepped into the room to see if it lived up to my expectations—and it certainly did! The same nostalgic yet stylish design language flowed into the room: black-speckled concrete walls, terrazzo finishes, and glossy enameled tiles.

The room was both spacious and cozy, with long, built-in sofas stretching across the width of the room, perfect for lounging. The bathroom was another highlight, featuring a seamless white bathtub placed right beside the shower area. The toiletbowl was modern and high-tech, equipped with an automated washing function for added convenience.

I pulled back the blackout curtains, stepped onto the balcony, and found myself surrounded by views of lush greenery. The view was tranquil, with trains occasionally passing by in the distance. It was a peaceful yet dynamic sight.

Facilities Worth Exploring

Just Swim
The outdoor swimming pool, aptly named Just Swim, is another highlight of the hotel. I did not have time for a swim, but the pool looked incredibly inviting under the warm weather. A separate paddling pool keeps children safe, while lounge chairs along the poolside invite guests to relax with a book or soak up the sun.

Good Lounge
You will find the Good Lounge on level two, styled with vintage industrial touches that create a relaxed atmosphere to unwind. The lounge offers practical amenities too, including a coffee machine, water dispenser, and microwave for guests to use. Stepping out from the lounge leads you to a spacious terrace. The space overlooks the swimming pool and a striking orange bridge in the distance. The view transforms beautifully at night, creating a completely different ambiance.

Just Cafe
I headed down to Just Cafe on level one for breakfast the next morning. I was pleasantly surprised by the variety and quality of the buffet spread. From fresh salads, fruits, and bread to hot dishes like cod fish—it felt like a luxurious touch for the morning meal. The fruits were especially sweet and refreshing. Beyond breakfast, Just Cafe also offers a diverse lunch and dinner menu. It includes Tainan specialties, western favorites like burgers and ribs, as well as pasta and donburi bowls. The menu ensures there is something for everyone.

My stay at Just Sleep Tainan Hushan was a delightful experience that exceeded expectations. The hotel perfectly balances heritage charm with modern comfort through its design, facilities, and dining.

Another bonus is its location right next to Ten Drum Cultural Village and CHIMEI Museum. While I did not have time to visit the museum this trip, I did spend time at Ten Drum Cultural Village. It was undoubtedly one of the must-visit destinations in Tainan. I truly enjoyed my time there and will share more about it in an upcoming post.

Overall, Just Sleep Tainan Hushan is a family-friendly hotel I would recommend to anyone visiting Tainan. Stay tuned for my next hotel review or check out my other hotel reviews too!
