Mina Hotel and Spa is a luxury boutique hotel that is conveniently located in the old quarter, the heart of Hanoi.
After about 2 hours flight from Ho Chi Minh City, we finally arrived at Noi Bai International Airport, Hanoi. We booked Grab and was caught in horrible traffic jam along the way. It was already evening by the time we reached Mina Hotel and Spa to check-in.
Mina Hotel and Spa entrance was along a busy road and the lobby looks quite different from the other parts of the building. They do have an in-house spa to rejuvenate your body and mind if you required the service. A Sky Bar that serves drinks while you enjoy rooftop views and Mina Restaurant for my complimentary breakfast buffet. The restaurant also serves ala carte menu during lunch and dinner time.
Anyway, the room was so spacious that I believe 4 more single size beds could fit into that space. Perhaps it was the color tone which made me feel the room lack of warmth. There was only 1 bedside table, and the beds were pretty close side by side. The beds were not exactly comfortable, and pillows were quite hollow. The room wasn’t really soundproof as I could hear voices of people from the corridor. Toilet wise, was also really spacious. That would be our room for the 2 nights in Hanoi.
The streets in front of the hotel itself is really happening at night as people crowd around pubs/bars for social gatherings. Many people are seated along the streets having hotpots and BBQ grill despite the crowd of passersby.
Every Friday to Sunday, there is an old quarter night market going on where both locals and tourists could shop. I was fortunate enough to stroll around the night market since I was in Hanoi from Thursday to Friday. Residing in a hotel around the old quarters is definitely a wise choice since there are many landmarks to visit within walking distance.
After checking out, we engaged the hotel’s limousine service to bring us to our next destination – Hai Phong. The limousine service is basically a transport network where the minivan would pick up 7-9 people from multiple pickup points. These people are all headed towards Hai Phong as well and it would be cheaper than taking Grab.
