Victoria Garden Hotel in Penang Review

Victoria Garden Hotel is 3-star hotel which we picked for our short 4 days 3 night weekends getaway in Penang. Unlike my friends, I have visited Penang last year, at exactly the same period a week after Chinese New Year. Sadly, I once again have missed the light up of the beautifully decorated Kek Lok Si Temple.

Besides the Kek Lok Si Temple, I still get to visit some of the amazing places I have yet to explore. Upon arrival at the Penang International Airport, we hurriedly took a grab to Victoria Garden Hotel. The hotel is located strategically at the edge of Georgetown, reflecting the historical and modernized Penang cultures. Not only does it offers guests easy access to the cultural charms of George Town, but also the jetty view that dot the island’s coastline.

As we stepped into the hotel, an ambiance that effortlessly blended contemporary elegance with warm hospitality greeted us. The lobby, with only a counter, was concise, and the wall had been painted with subtle hints of Malaysian heritage. The check in process was rather smooth and the 4 of us split into our Deluxe Twin rooms. to put down our luggage. Upon entering the room, my first impression was the room was rather clean and cozy. Overall, my favorite thing about the room would be its showering facility. I felt that the heater is on point and the water temperature does not fluctuate between hot and cold. Not only that, I also enjoyed the strong water pressure coming from the showerhead.

Although there is no swimming pool for a dip, there is an on-site Kin Kao Restaurant that serves Thai cuisine. We spent most of our time hitting the streets as we walked towards the heart of George Town. There were no lack of cafes and local food around the area! Do check out other hotel reviews too!
