Qing Xin Ling Leisure & Cultural Village is another top place to visit in Ipoh
Who doesn’t enjoy wandering through a historic village surrounded by mountains of limestone and lush greenery? In addition to Kek Lok Tong Cave Temple, I also suggest going to Qing Xin Ling Leisure & Cultural Village.
We did not know the place would be close during Hari Raya Haji. Other cars were seen turning in before u-turning out after realizing it was closed, it wasn’t just us. The following day, we returned and began our explorations.
I love how Malaysia have such places, providing the perfect escape from the bustling city life. The entrance fee was 20RM each for non-locals, while locals are entitled to a lower rate. When we entered, there were chickens and geese roaming around.
There was a sizable lake and a few well-preserved kampung houses as we entered the village. While my companion fed the fish and turtles in the pond, I grabbed my camera to take pictures.
What to do there?
The cultural exhibition is all segmented in different area. Each cultural exhibition space showcases artifacts, photographs, and traditional objects from the past. Through its insights into our history and cultural relevance, the exhibition enables us to better understand our legacy.
Have your camera on standby since this place offers plenty of photo opportunities. From capturing the scenic views, traditional architecture, and moments of tranquility during your visit. It allows you to preserve your memories of this unique cultural village.
If you would like, try the quad bicycles which are available to use for free. They are four-wheeled vehicle that requires up to 4 people to cycle. There was a wishing tree located in the main area of the village. For RM3, visitors can write their wishes on the red belt paper and throw it onto the tree and make a wish. Visitors can also climb the small hill that leads up a narrow walkway. From there, have a lovely stroll along the lane while viewing the occupations and equipment used back in the old days.
There were more people arriving as we were about to leave. Glad that we came early to escape the crowd. We spent around 2-3 hours at Qing Xin Ling Leisure & Cultural Village. It would be worth a visit, especially for families with young children. Nowadays, we seldom get to see heritage houses and objects anymore. It would be an eye-opener for children as well. In Ipoh itself, there aren’t many other places to engage in leisure activities and we definitely enjoyed exploring the cultural richness and serene atmosphere of Qing Xin Ling in Ipoh.
