Mamee Jonker House: A Stop to Personalize your own Cup Noodles in Melaka

Mamee Jonker House sits along the ever-vibrant Jonker Street in Melaka, offering more than just a retail experience. The place not only offers a dose of childhood retail therapy but also provides an interactive experience for both kids and adults. Various articles and social media posts have highlighted Mamee Jonker House as a must-visit stop for families and curious tourists alike.

When I visited, the place buzzed with people, confirming its lively testament to its popularity. The energy was palpable, with families, couples, and even groups of friends exploring the shophouse with childlike wonder. Whether you’re a nostalgic adult like me who grew up snacking on the iconic Mamee Monster noodle snack, or a child discovering it for the first time, the experience offers something special for everyone.

What started as a humble noodle snack has grown into a full-blown brand empire. This outlet marks Mamee’s very first concept store, established after over 40 years in food manufacturing. The brand has clearly evolved over the years, expanding its portfolio and branching out under new sub-brands.

I fondly recall snacking on the original Mamee product—its crunchy noodle snack in classic chicken or BBQ flavors. Fast forward more than 15 years from my childhood days, and Mamee has since introduced newer, bolder flavors like the fiery red-hot pepper. The Mamee family has also grown, with the addition of pink and red monster mascots joining the iconic blue one.

Not only does the store offer an impressive array of Mamee snacking products, but it also features an extensive selection of instant and cup noodles. The shelves also showcase other Mamee merchandise, including bags, gift bundles, and stationery.

Personalizing My Mamee Noodle Cup

One of the highlights of the visit was the coloring corner. For just RM15, visitors can enjoy a simple yet delightful DIY experience. There are four flavors to choose from when purchasing at the counter: Chicken, Tom Yam, Curry Laksa, and Vegetarian.

I sat on one of the little chairs around a low table, surrounded by containers of vibrant, colored markers. I proudly embraced my childhood as I decorated my very own noodle cup, without a hint of embarrassment. It was an enjoyable activity that added a personal touch to the cup noodle. After decorating, I headed to the Mamee Kitchen, where I got to choose three dehydrated ingredients to add to my cup noodle. Finally, I watched as the staff packed it up in cute Mamee packaging. It could also make for a personalized gift.

In conclusion, if you find yourself in Melaka, don’t miss the chance to visit Mamee Jonker House! It’s one of the most interactive and enjoyable attractions on Jonker Street, offering a perfect blend of nostalgia and an opportunity for bonding with family and friends. You might even end up on a shopping spree for its delicious snacks and instant/cup noodles!
